  • 1 cup heavy cream For a rich, smooth texture.
  • 1 cup whole milk Balances the heaviness of cream.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances strawberry flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Mix chopped strawberries with sugar and a pinch of salt, then let them sit for at least 20 to 30 minutes to macerate.
  2. In a separate bowl, stir together cream, milk, and vanilla.
  3. Add the strawberries and their juices to the cream mixture and stir gently.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until cold.
  5. Churn the cold mixture in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  6. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.

Notes

For best results, allow the mixture to chill thoroughly before churning. If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain excess liquid before mashing. Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping if it’s too firm.
